Dr. Eli Afetsi Gaveh, a senior lecturer at the Department of Horticulture, has donated 11 bags of rice to the Directorate of Student Affairs (DoSA) Food Bank at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
The donation, which came from Dr. Gaveh and the June 2025 postgraduate graduating group of the Department of Horticulture, was presented as part of efforts to support students who depend on the food bank.
Dr. Gaveh, who also coordinates postgraduate programmes at his department, helped nearly 100 long-standing students complete their studies.
The June 2025 group offered a financial gift, of which he asked be used to purchase 11 bags of 250 kg polished rice to support the DoSA Food Bank..
The Director of Student Affairs, Professor Marian Asantewah Nkansah, said the gesture shows how members of the university can give back in meaningful ways. According to her, acts like these go beyond gratitude and help build a supportive community.
She encouraged others to follow this example and support the Food Bank in any way they can as small contributions can make a big difference in the lives of students who need help.
The Food Bank initiative continues to rely on partnerships with staff, students, and alumni who are willing to lend a hand to fellow students in need.
